International Trauma Life Support, Arizona

A global organization dedicated to preventing death and disability from trauma through education and emergency trauma care.

Who we are

ITLS Arizona coordinates pediatric and adult ITLS classes across Arizona and provides support to ITLS providers, instructors, and course coordinators throughout the state.

Our history

ITLS was founded in the early 1980s as Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS). It has grown from a local and regional program into an internationally recognized standard with more than 75 chapters worldwide, and was officially renamed from BTLS to ITLS in 2005.

Since 1982, more than 330,000 EMS professionals have completed ITLS training programs, which are endorsed by the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Organization

ITLS is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in Alabama and registered to do business in Illinois, and is exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. ITLS Arizona operates as the Arizona chapter of ITLS International.
